Standpoints

Almost every day, lately, I am treated to the exquisite sight of one or more Great Blue Herons whose seemingly endless ability to traverse, search and scan their habitats symbolizes purpose in such a relatable way I feel honored to be part of the same world as they.

Earlier this evening, and at the end of my jog, I noticed a particularly persistent example braving a heavily crashing waterfall current (it had rained a lot) standing almost perfectly still. And I felt inspired by the wisdom expressed in finding the most sensible way to try to make all the commotion work for him/her having realized there was no sense in worrying or hurrying in response. All s/he needed was a solid footing.
