I’m not sure what inspired you today, reader, but I am still learning more about Course In Miracles at the moment, and I enjoyed today’s review/daily lesson. (Actually, I think technically 209 is for tomorrow.)

Anyway, I loved the directive to take a moment to pray, “Father, we do not know the way to You. ²But we have called, and You have answered us. ³We will not interfere. ⁴Salvation’s ways are not our own, for they belong to You. ⁵And it is unto You we look for them. ⁶Our hands are open to receive Your gifts. ⁷We have no thoughts we think apart from You … ⁸Yours is the way that we would find and follow. ⁹And we ask but that Your Will, which is our own as well, be done in us and in the world, that it become a part of Heaven now. ¹⁰Amen.” (ACIM, W-189.7:1–10:10)

Today as I heard this read aloud, I was so grateful to feel a sense of almost being like a little toddler being, thank God, scooped all the way up in to her Father’s arms and so relieved.

Something I was pondering this morning while running is what a comforting change it can be to try to gauge one’s progress based more on peace in one’s own heart than on others’ responses necessarily. At least at this moment this approach feels right to me and I later felt such a strong pull to spend some time with the Bible passage “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.”

Given how much talk there has been lately about the role of followers – rather than independent-minded citizens if you ask me – in the establishment of prominent podcasters, pundits, and influencers today, I’m grateful to be reminded of the only kind of followers I want to seek.
